This manual is meant for 1A-server users. It explains how to use 1A-telephony without a physical phone by using the software Zoiper.

Extracting Zoiper
  • Open the downloaded file, for example "Zoiper_3.2_Linux_Free_32Bit_64Bit.tar.gz"
  • Rightclick the correct run file (32Bit or 64Bit) and choose Extract...
  • Click Extract
  • Click Quit

Starting the Zoiper installation
  • Press the Windows key
  • Type terminal
  • Press the Enter key
  • Type: gksudo Downloads/Zoiper_*_Linux_Free_??Bit.run &
  • Enter your password when asked
  • Press CTRL+d to close the terminal window

  • Click Forward
  • Choose I accept the agreement
  • Click Forward

  • Uncheck Launch Zoiper
  • Click Finish

Creating the SIP account
  • Click Settings
  • Choose Create a new account
  • Choose SIP
  • Click NEXT
  • Enter the correct information:
    user / user@host → <phonenumber>@<IP-address-server>
    Password → <phone-password>
    Domain / Outbound proxy → <IP-address-server>
  • Click NEXT
    Acount name should now be <phonenumber>@<IP-address-server>
  • Click NEXT
  • Click Close

Configuring Zoiper
  • Click Settings
  • Choose Preferences
  • Go to tab Advanced
  • Change Use default STUN to Don't use STUN
  • Go to tab General
  • Click Unregister
  • Click Register
  • Click OK

  • At Find a contact enter *11<VoIP-user-number>
  • Click CALL

Troubleshooting

No connection outside of the company network
  • Use PPTP VPN to connect to your company network
